Tim Field, lead electrician

About Brightfield Electric

Tim Field grew up in Ann Arbor , MI and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1994. He spent his young adult years in the non-profit sector working with youth. He actually began to learn the electrical trade in order to support his first passion; a non-profit rowing team for which he was the program director. To his surprise, Tim found that he had an aptitude for electrical work. He joined a company that specialized in storage facilities and quickly gained experience installing and trouble-shooting electrical lighting and power systems, security systems, computer-based automated access and CCTV systems. Tim spent a decade honing his skills, during which he rose to become a project manager and became accustomed to coordinating with other trades. He earned his journeyman card from Associated Builders and Contractors in 2008 and earned his Electrical Contractor Class-B license in 2014. In 2012, Tim left his former employer on good terms to begin Brightfield Electric, Inc. with the help of his wife. Brightfield Electric has been a perfect fit for Tim, allowing him to help customers with residential electric needs as well as light installation projects, which are always visually satisfying. Tim’s former employer is one of Brightfield’s most loyal customers. Tim hasn’t given up rowing entirely, and now helps coach for the Hinsdale Community Rowing team and Chicago Community Scullers.
